A taco battle royale is coming to Nola!
Top Taco is an annual taco festival that sees New Orleans’ top restaurants, taquerias, and bars battle it out for the title of Top Taco Champion.
In 2021, which is the fourth year of the event, Top Taco is taking place on September 23rd in Lafreniere Park.
For one night only, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm, the park will be taken over by some of the best tacos and tequila in the city.
As the top chefs and restaurateurs battle it out, guests will be able to reap the benefits, tasting all of their incredible creations.
Unlimited gourmet tacos, as well as unlimited signature cocktails (there will be several creative tequila lounge areas on-site) is what you get when you buy a ticket to this foodie event.
And as this is a fundraising event, all proceeds will be donated to the PLEASE Foundation, which provides mentoring, leadership training, and scholarships to at-risk students in New Orleans.
In addition to tasting all that this festival has to offer, guests have the opportunity to vote for their favorites in four unique categories: Top Creative Taco, Top Traditional Taco, Top Margarita, and Top Creative Cocktail.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without live music. More than just premium food and drink, Top Taco 2021 will also feature live music, special guest performances, and interactive activities.
Over 30 New Orleans restaurants are participating in Top Taco 201, including Velvet Cactus, Way of the Taco, La Concinita, Crow & Pitcher, Mawi Tortillas, Justine, Barcadia, Secret Birria, Table and Tap, Tacos del Cartel, and more.
Tickets for Top Taco cost $75 for general admission (which includes unlimited taco and tequila tastings), $95 for a first tasting ticket (free tastings and an early entry time of 6:00 pm), and $125 for a VIP ticket (this includes access to the VIP lounge, private bathrooms, and plenty of seating).
If you’re visiting New Orleans on September 23rd, then be sure to buy a ticket to this one-of-a-kind event. And if you need a place to stay while in town, we’d love to have you at the Best Western Plus Westbank.
