New Orleans is bursting with fun events. Even as summer draws to a close, there are still several attractions and celebrations taking place throughout the city. From the largest gay pride festival in New Orleans to the return of football season, check out the top events in New Orleans right now.
New Orleans Saints
It’s that time of year once again! Pre-season football has kicked off in New Orleans, and you can still catch a Saints game this August. The Arizona Cardinals play the Saints at home on Saturday, August 28th, with their home opener scheduled for September 12th against the Green Bay Packers. Prepare to see Jameis Winston in action in the first regular-season game since Drew Brees’ retirement.
Southern Decadence
One of the largest gay celebrations in the city is back for 2021. Though the usual lineup has been altered due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Southern Decadence is still returning for 2021. The 5-day event is kicking off September 2nd and ending September 6th, and as always, the corner of Bourbon and St. Ann Streets will be the epicentre of the celebration. The exact schedule for Southern Decadence 2021 is still TBA, so be sure to check their website for further details.
